Pakistani female lawyers condemn beatings

Saturday 15 August 2009

Pakistani female laywers have condemned the brutal beating and manhandling of a prominent Pakistani politician. In a letter emailed to Pakistanigirls.org, Ayesha Khan, an attorney practicing in Lahore, stated that the Pakistani legal community was aghast at the failure of the police to protect a certain politician. She said that the entire country was ashamed at how a small groups of lawyers had tarnished the image of the country by resorting to physical violence.

Recently, aspiring law professionals among Pakistani girls have expressed their solidarity with the victim Sher Afgan Khan, stating that all Pakistani girls as well as their male counterparts want a peaceful Pakistan where political differences can be settled in a peaceful and civilized manner, without resorting to primitive tactics such as mob violence.
